Fencing Experience

Jai started fencing at the age of 11 when he quickly fell in love with the sport.
 

Some of the highlights of his fencing career include the following results:
 

• A top 10 placement at the Cadet (Under 17) European Championship

• Bronze at the Bourges 2016 Junior World Championships Team Event (anchoring the first team in British history to win a medal at a Under 20 World Championships)

• A top 16 placement at the 2020 Senior Paris Marathon (which earned his selection as Britain's reserve representative for the 2020 Olympic zonals)

• Bronze at the British Senior Championships 2019

Coaching Career
 

Jai is an experienced piste-side coach who has coached internationally at the Junior (Under 20) and Senior (Over 20) Levels.

His main focus for the time being is the development of fencers in Under 12- Under 17 age groups, with the aim of developing and aiding fencers looking to qualify for international events.
       
Ideology

One of the major tools Jai has used to aid his success during his fencing career is video analysis.  He has created a range of videos to explain rules, tactics and examples of correct execution, with the aim of enabling younger fencers to visualise and apply the techniques shown to their own fencing.
